The Voice of the PEI Tourism Industry

The Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) is offering an Emerit Food and Beverage Manager Certification Study Group. The study group is designed to assist participants to work together to review the Food and Beverage Manager workbooks.  The Study group will meet one night a week for a total of 10 weeks. Each week the participants will be expected to review the material ahead of time. The Study Group will begin on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 6:00 -9:00 pm and will continue until April 25, 2017. (We have allowed a couple of extra weeks for stormy weather and March break). Following the Study Group each participant will make arrangements to complete the Emerit Food & Beverage Manager exam and Performance Review.

The required experience for this program consists of 4 years in the foodservice industry with 2 of those years being at a supervisory/managerial level. If you don’t have this experience you can  start the process but the experience is required before completion. Successful Food and Beverage Manager Certification candidates will be awarded the Tourism Certified Manager (TCM) designation.

The cost of this program could be as low as $400 + HST per person.  TIAPEI has applied for funding through the Canada Jobs Grant which will cover two-thirds of the total cost ($1200) for eligible employees. For more information please contact Kathy Livingstone at 902-566-50028 or
