The Voice of the PEI Tourism Industry

For many years TIAPEI has lobbied Government for a more equitable tax system that would allow Island tourism operators to be more competitive on the global market and carry out much need improvement and expansions to their properties.

In the 2012/2013 Provincial Budget, presented on April 18, 2012 by Minister Wes Sheridan, it was announced that the Harmonized Sales Tax will be implemented on Prince Edward Island as of April 1, 2013.

TIAPEI urges all tourism operators to educate themselves on the implications of HST for their businesses.
