The Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) is offering the National Swimming Pool Foundation Certification Course. This program will certify you to properly maintain your swimming pools and hot tubs. This program is recognized worldwide.
Topics included are:
- Essential calculations to understand pool water contamination, disinfection, water balance to prevent blockages or corrosion of equipment
- Problem solving with pool and spa water
- Chemical testing for accurate results
- Adding chemical correctly
- Safe chemical storage
- Water circulation
- Spa issues
- Facility safety
- Emergency plan
- PEI regulations
The course is April 3, 4, & 5, 2019 (Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday). You must attend all three days. Upon successful completion of the course (pass the exam) you will be a Certified Pool Operator from the National Swimming Pool Foundation. (There is an option of completing the course online, but you still must be in attendance on the 5th to write the exam).
It is important to ensure the person who takes the course is the person who actually manages the water in your pool. The courses will be held at Rodd Royalty, 14 Capital Drive, Charlottetown, PE. The cost of the course is $650.00 + HST per person. Funding may be available through the Canada Jobs Grant for the registration. If we secure funding, the Canada Jobs Grant will pay half of the cost of the training.
