Ann Worth, Owner of Worth Consulting Group has partnered up with TIAPEI to create a workshop focused on Respect in the Workplace: Being a Best in Class Operator and Offering a Creating a Great Place to Work.
This session is designed to provide insight, guidance, and updates on the importance of fostering a respectful, happy, and inviting workplace environment. Building respectful teams and modelling best practices has never been more important. Having a clear understanding of terms, expectations and why respect is critically important in the workplace is at the core of this session. Elevate Your Sponsorship Success. Partnership Beyond the Pitch
Jamie Thomas, Cultural Director of Lennox Island and Mitchell Rennie, Executive Director of Indigenous Tourism Association of Prince Edward Island have delivered a workshop “Creating Tourism Allies in Epekwitk” for owners and operators within the industry.
This course is an introduction to Indigenous Peoples, History and Tourism Offerings. The 2.5 hour course will introduce Mi’kmaq culture, history, tradition and language while providing information on how to engage with visitors and share the many tourism offerings available.
Topics covered include Truth and Reconciliation, Land-based Learning, Cultural Authenticity, Two-Eyed Seeing, Decolonization, Canada and PEI’s True History and Indigenous tourism product readily available. Upon completion of this course, participants will have a better understanding of Indigenous peoples and will be provided with tools to become better allies.

Best Practice Missions!
This is a new and exciting opportunity for specific operator-driven best practice missions. These 3-5 day business focused trips are suited for up to 3 participants each. It’s a chance for operators to visit a high quality, innovative business/location that they would like to learn more about, and then bring back and adapt those fresh ideas, and implement them in their own business.
What do they receive?
- 50% reimbursement on eligible travel expenses
- Research and planning assistance before the best practice mission
- Follow up support after 1 week, 3 months and 6 months post-mission to identify impact, and barriers and connect to additional supports
